I wasn’t too thrilled with this article. It seems to try and touch on all the treatment options, but does not give enough information. It seems that it could confuse a parent new to a GERD baby. The article discusses being propped up on their tummy, but not propping them on their back (which then negates the added SIDS risk. It seems to discount the idea that reflux and food allergies or intolerances has an impact on acid reflux. It also gives very vague medication information and lumps Zantac with Prevacid (for example) which are two completely different types medications in how they work. I wouldn’t say this article is inaccurate, but I do think it can be a bit deceiving and confusing to a newcomer. From what I know from experience with my kids and the doctors who care for them, this article could have been a bit more in-depth.
